Gardens of California, located in the beautiful San Ramon Valley, welcomes you. In 2008 the company was first formed as a sole proprietorship to offer special needs adaptive horticulture services on site. Within a week of formation, city bylaws changed, stating an at home business could operate, yet not have clients visit the property for purposes of conducting business. There sat my investment and my first horticulture company. In 2009, I modified the services to be off site, added non special need services and started the design of a signature garden apparel line. Today, July 2010, Gardens of California LLC has come full circle serving various bay area individuals and groups with its services and offering its garden apparel line world wide. From 2009 until now, I have met and worked with numerous vendors, the State of California and local governments. I must admit, for the large part, the services provided from those I have met along the way have been very good. This has been a pleasant gift. I have designed the web site to be a brief on educational aspects of where we are with our food, diets, general well being and of course the enviroment. There are tremendous specialized sites, books, and seminars available on these topics. My goal is to introduce these in short sweet story form, with the desire that this will act as a springboard to your continued research in the area that interests you the most. Promotion of earth friendly totes and heirloom seeds signifies the importance of our environment and that of taking control of our own diets. The documentaries that are listed, speak well to the "why" of this. What have I learned from these valuable resources? I have learned that not all is well and it is up to us, each of us, individually, to make a choice as to how we may reach a state of grace and balance between ourselves and mother earth. There is great fortune in this learning. There is great wellness in gardening. The garden apparel line I have designed and contracted to a local garment manufacturer is the icing on the cake. Designed and made in California is our significance. Fourteen hour back to back days, a basic requirement for most start ups, passed by quickly for me. Blessed with a home business, my overall message of health in gardening was easily vaildated. When taxed for more brain power, or waiting for a vendor to get back with me, I simply put on one of my beautiful garments and went to the garden, to weed, plant, harvest, sadly toss out the plants that did not want to grow, and / or water.
